SpaceX Starbase at Boca Chica in Texas of the United States is currently expanding its scale and territories of its launching base due to the curiosity of natural resources in the outer space and the political competition among the nations. More design research and engineering missions are implemented to accelerate the development of the space mining industry on the moon and asteroids. The company shows its ambition by planning typical American suburban grids over the marshland and rapidly transforming the landscape into a different exposed system of infrastructure and manufacture. This drastic series of construction recaptures the geographical value of the site and connects it to the planetary scale for searching space resources.
A more complex skeleton was derived from the model experiments inspired by Kengo Kuma’s interpretation of material and substance to explore the classic juxtaposition of structure and skin. The architect reflected his design spirit in the projects by refusing the conventional vector of load-bearing and exposing the assemblies of building material. He tried to treat the material as a collective substance that forms the architectural projects and offers the architects more opportunities to create intermediate space
